"I used a large x-acto knife for years to cut my tooling leather to size using a steel straight edge. I wasn't sure how to use a round knife or head knife and they looked dangerous with all that blade. They were also expensive. I finally broke down and decided to get one, a good one, so I got the Master Deluxe Round Knife. This was the best decision I've made. Once I learned how to use it (Leatherwork Tools- Al Stohlman and YouTube videos), I wish I would have got it years ago. You can cut straight lines without a straight edge. It is easy to direct as it is pushed and rolled. I still need to perfect my tight turns with it, but I definitely recommend this round knife. "This is a nice looking tool with a very comfortable handle. This is very sharp. It cut easily through the three pieces of leather of a new saddle horn cover I made. I had been eyeing this for awhile, expecting to have to need it for my project. Yet, I was intimidated by it. I couldn't have cut through that thickness with anything else.
