"So I ordered this cut in hopes of strapping it up and getting maximum yield for belts....however, being a "branded" piece, it had too many defects. The shoulder and rear hips area were pretty darn scarred up. I would, however, recommend this item highly for stiff bags (rucks, briefcases, etc.) where much character is desired. I think with dye and antiquing, this leather would look old world cool and aged right off the bat. The pasted back is velvet smooth and the thickness is very consistent. I ended up returning this item....twice. But bear in mind, it just didn't suit MY intended purpose at this time. It is a genuinely good buy for this much leather as long as you know what to expect. So here's the real meat of the review....EVERYONE I spoke to on the phone from Weaver was fantastic! Not only in "today's world" of customer service, but by any measure. VERY helpful, understanding, and efficient. I spoke with both folks from customer service (who were able to steer me to a more suitable cut of leather) and folks in the returns department, who were just great. I am pretty new to this hobby/trade and glad I found Weaver right out of the gate (Thanks Corter!) I'll be back...probably again and again based on the customer service and advice, even though this was not the piece for me."
