"Nicely made stamp = stainless steel. Quite hefty feel, The larger diameter shaft is nice, takes a heavy blow to make a good impression since it is a large stamp with such flat surfaces. Impression is nice but not crisp without a very heavy blow from the maul. I will likely buy more of this type, but they are pretty pricey = not BK pricey, but still pretty steep. I do think that the domed top striking surface of the shaft is a mistake. If you are using a round, tapered hard faced maul the stamp want to leap of plumb when struck. I will either grind the top flat as are my other stamps or have to switch to a flat faced dead blow type hammer."

"This stamp has a rounded end so that when you hit it with a maul, it has a tendency to slip off the stamp and you get a defective imprint on the leather. I don't know why Weaver didn't just make the end of the stamp flat like the other stamps I purchased from them. If it were flat, the stamp would be great."
