It is first chrome tanned and then veg tanned resulting in a leather that has a great mix of strength, durability and firmness. The waxes and oils infused in this latigo leather give it exceptional temper and feel that make it a good choice for so much more than horse cinches. Imagine using this leather for everything from pet collars and leashes to gun belts. Plus, you’ll notice the flesh side of this latigo looks almost as nice as the grain side. Best thing is is that since it's chrome & veg tanned, I was able to use my bell skiver to thin down the straps & orher small pieces. BTW, my bell skiver will not skive straight veg tanned"
