poor quality and operation

"Over the years, the quality of these combination locks has declined. I have been buying them for 20 years. In some cases, they arrive to me and when you take the red flag out, the numbers BARELY turn, and sometimes don't turn at all. We end up throwing away probably one out of three. The operation of the wheel numbers used to be no problem. . . now they fight you to work them. My customers complain. We are thinking of ending this as an item in our store."

Buyer beware

"This is a poorly designed lock set. The piece with the lock is a completely different thickness than the piece with the hasp that attaches to the lid. The hasp is at least 1/8" thinner than the lock. I had to machine up a piece of aluminum flat bar stock to shim it out to the correct thickness. I know of no briefcase that has the lid protruding over the base...bad design period. Also, compared to the one original I did have, the metal is considerably thinner, but then I guess these days one can expect things to be as cheap as humanly possible. Chinese junk"
