Leather Working Group (LWG) is a global, member-led, non-profit organization that is dedicated to driving excellence in the leather industry, minimizing the environmental impact of leather production, and challenging industry perceptions.
Launched in 2005, the group offers the LWG Leather Manufacturer Audit Protocol as a means of assessing the environmental performance and related business practices of leather manufacturers. Developed by industry experts, audit protocols allow the assessment and certification of best practice in leather manufacturing facilities, ensuring brands and retailers can make responsible sourcing decisions.
Given the thoroughness of the assessment, leather manufacturers are required to meet stringent criteria and best practices to be recognized as an LWG Certified Leather Manufacturer. CHAHINLEATHER® has been recognized with an LWG certification, and we are grateful to have distributed leathers from Chahin for over 25 years. All CHAHINLEATHER® branded leathers are clearly identified throughout the website on all leather produced in their tannery and offered by Weaver.
