Well made but the hole

"Well made but the hole for the master tool punch is a little large. The tolerance could be more accurate. Also it’s difficult to determine where the first hole will be. For a very basic simple tool it should be easier to use."

Save your money. Your eyes are more accurate.

"This was a very disappointing experience. Not only was this chipped and scratched out of the package (probably a return that was sold as new) but these results are not centered at all. I work with 1” straps regularly and had better results when I was eyeballing it. I cannot believe how expensive this tool is to show up this condition and still not work properly. And frankly, the wire guides are such a silly design. You spend as much time eyeballing those as you would just using a ruler and an awl to mark your lines. The tool feels substantial however the fact that it’s specific to the Master Tool punches and it’s so thick, you aren’t using other punches with any accuracy. You can’t see near the tip of the punch if you use a C. S. Osborne or other brand punch to get an idea where you’re at like you can with cheaper centering tools. I wanted to like this because it was a “pro” grade tool but this is a monumental disappointment in my book and NOT worth 3+ times the cost of alternatives out there. Save your money."

Good value for money.

"Easy to use and creates holes with perfect spacing in the center of whatever strap or belt you are working with."

Love it!

"Sized well over 200 belts at the show this year, and used this tool for most of them. Our stuff is all hand tooled and punched, but this makes the holes for the buckle tang look machine punched - which customers really loved watching. Did not use the wire guide, as I have a template for marking the spacing on the 5 holes for the tang."

Steve M. (5/5)

Not as handy as I thought it would be

"Wish they would make a video on how best to use the device. I still haven't figured out how to utilize the wire things. You have to be careful not to let it open up or your next hole might not be in line with the others."

Bonnie Y. (3/5)

A video would be great.

"This product is great for centering holes in straps, but it is not intuitive as far as the spacing between holes (say for a belt) A video would be very helpful."

Self Centering Guide

"I have mixed feelings about this tool. I have to use my old template to mark the holes. It does give me the center of the belt. All I have to do is look in the hole with my head lamp to see the dot I punched in the leather. Then drop the punch in the hole, tap it with my maul to see if it is on center, then whack it. It is a good idea, I think that you should work on developing it some more. I would rather have the same tool with five holes in it, so I don't have to use my old template. Them wire things just help to find the center of the hole, they don't help to show where you punch the next one. I don't know, maybe I am using it wrong. It would help if you guys did a video. If you do let me know. I do feel Weaver is top of the shelf leather company. Thank you, Jim"
