Bringing You Leather from the Best Tanneries in the World!

We work with a network of vegetable and chrome tanneries around the world to bring you some of the finest and most consistent leather available. Not only is it in our interest to provide this leather for our customers, but also we are unique in that we use those same leathers in house to produce our products. Because of this, we understand the importance of consistent, quality leather. To maintain consistency we work closely with these tanneries to ensure that each shipment we receive is up to our standards. Below is more information on a few of the tanneries that we work with.

hermann-oak-logoHermann Oak® Leather Co.

Hermann Oak® Leather Co. found its beginning when Lewis Charles Hermann started tanning leather in St. Louis, Missouri in 1881 to serve the local harness trade. Three more generations of Hermanns have followed in Lewis’s footsteps to bring the finest vegetable leathers to market. Starting with prime grade heavy native steer hides, Hermann Oak® produces a variety of leathers, each specifically suited for its end use. Herman Oak’s tanning process has not changed much through the years. They still use the finest natural tree bark in their tanning liquors for richness and texture. The leather is soaked in ground-vats until it is firm, strong and tight-fibered. Hermann Oak’s technicians hand-work each side for a smooth, consistent, even-colored piece of leather. You’ll appreciate the quality that comes from over 130 years of experience.

A Mexican tannery, Industrias Chahin de Orizaba, S.A. de C.V., started in 1932 as a producer of vegetable leather. In 1991, under the brand name Chahin Leather, the tannery began to make leather specifically for the horse and saddlery industry. The tannery’s traditional pit-drum tanning process utilizes the latest technology and the best U.S. hides. While the tannery specializes in veg tanned leather, they also produce chrome-vegetable and alum tanned leathers. You can count on the Chahin Leather brand when manufacturing your leather products.
