"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review – Weaver Leather Supply Purse Kit When I first picked up this purse kit, I wasn’t just looking for something to build—I was looking for something to hold onto. I’ve been diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). The easiest way to describe it is like Parkinson’s and ALS happening at the same time. It’s taken a lot from me. Things I used to enjoy… I just couldn’t anymore. Until this. From my wheelchair—and even from my bed—I found something I could still do. This purse kit gave me that. It gave me time, focus, and something to look forward to each day. It took me longer than most people to finish it, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was watching it come together piece by piece, stitch by stitch. And I loved every minute of it. I shared my progress daily on Facebook, and the encouragement I received meant more than I can put into words. People saw the detail, the effort, and the heart behind it. I’ve already had a few requests to make more—including a custom black powder musket ball pouch—and I’m excited to keep going. This kit didn’t just give me a finished product—it gave me purpose. The quality of the kit is excellent. It includes a variety of fasteners and hardware I’ll definitely use again. Everything felt solid, well thought out, and beginner-friendly while still leaving room to make it your own. This morning, I applied mink oil and watched the leather come alive. That moment meant more than just finishing a project. I’m not even fully done yet—I plan to line the inside using one of my old green plaid shirts… her favorite shirt of mine that no longer fits. I’ll use the pocket from it inside the purse, so she’ll always have something personal, something familiar, something that was once part of me. Something I made for her… by hand. Something she can carry with her—always. This wasn’t just a purse kit. This was purpose. This was peace. This was a way to still create… even when so much has been taken away. "Very disappointed. No instructions with purse kit. Was told watch a video. 69 dollar kit . Even a 2 dollar box of cake mix comes with directions. Newbie here and at a loss as to what all the dozens of rivets etc. are for. Some of which were just loose in the box. Oh well live and learn"

Very nice kit. I made

"Very nice kit. I made three kits and then four more of similiar and larger sizes using the included patterns. The needles in the kit are larger than necesaary. Smaller diameter needles were easier to use. You will end up with a lot of extra thread, spots, rivets and Chicago Screws."

Great for beginners!

"Great beginner project and the pattern will be great for future use. The leather is a bit flimsy to work with when sewing but not too difficult. My only complaint is that the supplied needles are larger than your standard John James #18 which made it difficult to get the needles through punched holes."

Great Kit!

"Ive been making this bag since I saw Chuck's video and made the pattern out of cardstock. The included pattern sheeting is a game changer. Along with the top notch hardware and the ease of, this should be everyone first delve into bag making and leather work. It's easy to customize as you go as well. Been so busy using the pattern, haven't even gotten to the leather provided - which looks and feels great. Great work by Weaver, Chuck and the rest of the team!"
